Re: ENDOMETRIOSIS AND INSULIN INTOLERANCE -PAIN REDUCTION

This is way easier than it sounds:
Whole grain breads, pastas, rice and cereals are your carbs and replace
anything made with white flour and/or white sugar.
Vegetables and Fruits should be purchased raw whenever possible and
cooked the least amount of time possible. Fruits should be limited
because of the higher sugar content which will raise blood glucose.
Vegetables should outnumber your carbs 2 to 1.
Meats should be lean and include as many varities as you like. Baked,
broiled and grilled are best. Fried should be limited to as few times
per year as possible - never is better. Same for battered or breaded.
A typical breakfast would be:
1 slice of whole grain toast with whatever topping you like in
moderation.
1 egg
1 slice of cheese
1/2 a banana or grapefruit or 1/2 cup grapes or berries - whichever you
prefer.
A typical snack would be:
1/2 cup yogurt
A typical lunch would be:
Tossed salad with as little dressing as possible. (Low fat often means
more salt so read the labels!!) Add a boiled egg or lean meat and cheese
to increase the protein value.
A typical snack would be:
Crisp bread cracker with a meat or cheese topping
A typical dinner would be:
Salad
Broiled chicken breast
1/2 serving of brown rice with mushrooms and onions
a hot vegetable of your choice but not corn or potato because you have
rice.
If you find yourself still hungry between dinner and bedtime then have a
snack of 30 grams of unsalted nuts no closer than 1 hour to bedtime.
My husband has lost nearly 70 pounds on this in 4.5 months. I, being
female have lost nearly 30 in the same time period. Men lose weight
faster than women - it's an estrogen thing.
Stress releases cortisol which tricks your body into storing more fats
than it needs so work on stress relief - physical activity works best as
it burns off the cortisol AND the fats! Respect your physical
limitations and don't be hard on yourself if you just can't do as much
for as long as you want - in time you will be more capable of doing so
and you will have less pain that lasts shorter periods and requires less
medication to cope with.
Good luck and be creative!!
