Hi Belinda,

Hopefully either your doctor has called you back by now or you have called again.

I started with just a small round bump in my lower abdomen and over a period of time it grew larger - some days were worse than others. I often had more than my share of gas, stomach cramps, alternating between diarrhea and constipation, back ache, pelvis ache, legs aching. My pelvis would feel very heavy, my abdomen would pull on my lower back muscles causing a lot of spasms. Heat helped but only if I could get it hot enough to nearly scald myself the pain was just so deep that the heat couldn't quite get there. Laying down with my knees raised helped my back and pelvis feel better. I was taking prescription ibuprofen 6400 mg per day which is a bit more than recommended and my kidneys were beginning to show it. Ovulation was excruciating. In addition I had some pretty severe adhesions that made some movements impossible. I had to make a great effort to move slowly when it came to reaching up or bending down. Kneeling was hazardous as I was so off-balance most of the time. I was constantly in a state of exhaustion from the effort of getting from morning to night, working full time and tending to a house, yard and children.

Intercourse was unbearable and sometimes even my skin and hair would hurt to touch my CNS was so overloaded with pain signals and inflammation.

Surgery resulting in a hysterectomy for me was a 100% cure. I have a few adhesions that formed that I become aware of now and then but nowhere near what it was like and luckily my surgeon made sure to instill enough saline solution in my abdomen to keep all the organs floating freely. Once in awhile if I overdo it I get a little achy in my belly from the few adhesions I do have but it's totally bearable.

Keep trying to reach the doc Belinda... make sure you let the nurse know you need to speak to the doctor and ask about his phone hours... some have specific hours during which time they will receive phone calls - especially if it's a busy practice.

Hang in there!!
