Re: Anyone still having pain after a TOTAL hysterectomy? From: Shannon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 10 11:00:44 2005
Dear D.N. and Michelle: I too am plagued with pain and suffering despite having a hysterectomy in 2000. I thought this would all be over and done with after my hysterectomy in 2000; I felt great after the recovery period and started noticing pain again about 1.5 to 2 years ago. I would definitely like the opportunity to discuss what treatment options you are now utilizing to deal with the pain and any preventitive measures you may have tried successfully (or not) to avoid or minimize recurrence. I have been off work for the past six months on medical leave due to excruitiating pain and urinary and bowel dificulties due to Endo. I have endured 4 surgeries during this period due to endo and endo related afflictions. My last surgery via laprascopy to excise tissue and break up the many adhesions was only 70% successful according to my surgeon. I am wanting to return to work at least on a part-time basis (with my GP's blessing) to deal with the mental strian of being at home and the financial ramifications as well. Any suggestions from anyone participating in the forum would be great. Thanks in advance for any support and info provided.
