I can't say I completely understand your situation because I didn't have
that many tests before. I had problems with cramps and stuff since I
had started my cycle. It was the same thing every month, I would miss
at least one day of school due to the fact that I was hurting soo bad.
That's when my mom took my to the obgyn. I was 14 at that time. The
doctor told me that she thought it may have been due to the fact that I
hadn't regulated out and all that. So I was put on birth control and a
pain med when needed. The pain got a little better, then my senior year
it all changed. I started missing school again due to the cramping. I
had another doctor in the group because the first one I had seen had
left the group. The new dr changed my bcp and gave me an
anti-inflammatory. That helped a little. I got through the remainder
of the year. Then the following fall i went away to college, which I
think really caused the flare up because of stress. I had a massive
asthma attack and missed 2.5 weeks of school, plus my grandma had a
massive heart attack and many other things. So I was away at school and
trying to still make it to classes. I called and talked to my doctor
and she wanted me to come in, but I was two hours away at school, so she
called me in more pain meds and then I went in on friday for an
ultrasound. Nothing showed, so she told me that she thought that it may
be endometriosis and I needed a lap. So we got that scheduled,
therefore at christmas I left school and came back to community college.
I had surgery in January where he found massive stage 4 endo all over.
He said that he thought this is probably what has been brewing when the
pain started. However, it was partly my fault because i didn't want to
go to a male obgyn. He was the only one that does the surgeries from
that group though. So ever since Jan '04 i have went to him. After
surgery I still had massive pain. I was put on all different treatments
and nothing was helping. To find out I had a kidney stone, so in april
I had surgery for that. The pain was still there though. We went
through every pain med they had in the section that he prescribes and
only one worked. However, after taking it for a bit, I broke out in
hives and couldn't breathe. So Finally found something that worked and
I couldn't take it due tot the fact that I was allergic to it. So in
June I started 6 months of lupron, but still no relief. I was gong to
the doctor at least once a week. One time within 4 weeks I had been to
the obgyn 12 times. So he decided to do another lap. He said that most
people last at least a year in between surgeries, but it didn't look
like I was going to be able to. So on december 28th I had another lap.
Found more endo that had formed. THis had formed while taking all the
meds to stop it from forming. So he told me that I made need a lap
every year or so, but he hoped not. So that's what went on with me. Now
I'm still in pain, but not near as bad as I was. I have good days and
bad days. I can always tell when I'm stressed out because I will hurt a
lot more. So I've learned to not stress over things soo much anymore.
Sorry this was soo long. feel free to email me softball34life@yahoo.com
