Re: Will I have childrenFrom: Alta (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri May 6 13:29:23 2005
No, nothing is set in stone that you will not have children. Until you don't have a uterus you have the ability. Even if you lose your ovaries there is egg/embryo adoption. I do think you are wondering if you will be able to conceive naturally. That really isn't out of the question. My friend found out she had stage 4 endo only after a c-section for her third child. You need to work with your doctor to preserve your fertility. Let them know that you would eventually like to have children and how can you work with them to do this. There is always IVF and adoption. I have stage 3-4 endo (depending on dr. you talk to). At the age of 36 I became pregnant with my daughter on the first attempt. IVF takes from "A", bypasses "B" and returns to "C". My husband knew that I wanted children when we first started dating. He also knew that I would probably need IVF to accomplish it. He wasn't freaked out and has stuck by me through sickness and health. He is a wonderful man, look for a strong one. I know it's a hard situation to be in. Remember most people really don't know what their fertility situation is. Even those that have no problems don't always get pregnant. If you want to talk sometime, e-mail me. I've been there honey.
