Dr. Visit-Asking for Pain Medication-Other StuffFrom: Alta (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri May 6 07:37:34 2005
Hi, Yesterday I had a great visit with my internist. I told her what happened with my daughter. We talked about what has worked and what has not. We also discussed the pain I was experiencing during bowl movements. She wrote me a script for percocet and if I need one for xanax she will write that. I am going to start my day with an Ultram and if I need it I can take a percocet. I stayed focused on the immediate symptoms. I didn't bring up to many things to confuse the issue at hand. I know that a lot has been said about diet, exercise and endo. I wanted to add my two cents. Since my last surgery two years ago I have had to change my diet. I do not eat red meat, except hamburger. I avoid soda, alcohol and gas causing veggies. I embrace whole grains, they do taste good. I also remember fiber, fiber, fiber. I make sure I cut my food in small pieces, chew and take my time eating. I take care to do everything I can to keep my bowels moving. I drink plenty of water, my drink of choice. I do stray from this but I know that I could pay for it. Sometimes I do, sometime I don’t. I like dairy products but I keep it in moderation. I don’t think they really bother me but if I ever think they do, they will be gone. I also don’t go out to eat very often, too many unknowns. My workouts consist of taking the dog on a 3 mile walk 3 or more times a week. I used to do cardio followed by weights. No more, it was causing pain. I am looking for a yoga and pilates class. I feel that exercise is important. I also feel that you need to keep your “core” strong. This is what works for me, but it may not work for everyone else.
