Hello, I stumbled onto this site and have found it very intersting. I am going through some medical issues that seem complicated. I had a hyster 5 years ago - was tired of having a very heavy period that would last 10 days and come every 21 days with severe anemeia. At the same time they did a bladder repair for stress incontenience. They tied that bladder up too high so I couldn't urinate and had to go back in 6 weeks later and remove sling-got good at self cathing. I haven't had any problems since. Couple of months ago, thought I had a UTI (urgency, and uncomfortable, no burning) so I went to doc - blood in urine so started on antibiotic. Culture was negative. Symptoms continued to went back to do - still blood in urine - tried different antibiotic. Again culture negative. Went on trip and had to go to ER - severe right flank pain accompanied with the ongoing urgency. Blood still in urine so they thought kidney stones (very prevalent in family). Xrays with contrast were negative for stones. Went to urologist when I got back home although symptoms subsided suddenly one day while at work - still blood in urine but no infection. Since symptoms had settled now we took a wait and see strategy. That didn't wait long, symptoms returned. IVP didn't show any stones. Urologist suggests dx of IC but puts me on Detrol LA to see if that helps - no help. I do not have alot of the symptoms that I have read about IC. I have a mega pain tolerance so what I say is very uncomfortable may be very painful, but I still don't have alot of the other symptoms. Weird thing as happened. Symptoms were getting worse through the week. Last night, I woke up to urinate and afterwards symptoms were really bad (they are usually worse after emptying the bladder). I got out of bed to watch tv so I wouldn't wake my hubby (he is a good guy). I had the severe pain in my kidney area again (right flank). I could not find a comfortable position. After about 1 1/2 hours, I felt a pop in my lower adominal area and the pain stopped. I feel fine this morning - no pressure or sensation that I need to urinate (except when I do). I did not have any discharge last night or anything else unusual. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I will admit, I am usually the "weird" one :-) Thanks, Christine
