General questionsFrom: Marie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Apr 27 00:05:02 2005
I have just some general questions about endometriois. I've suspected that I've had it for some time, but I have yet to get the guts to go to a doctor to ask about it. My mother had it pretty severe and keeps telling me that I couldn't possibly that it because its not as bad as her. However after talking to a girl at work and one of my friends moms who have both been diagnosed I've noticed some of my symtoms seem very similar to theirs. I'm just wondering about some of your thoughts on this. I've had painful periods since I was 10. Often I would vomit from the pain. My doctor put me on ortho-tricyclen to help get rid of my cramps and make my periods lighter, instead the pill has only made my cramps worse (and last 2 weeks instead of just 1) and made my periods worse. I talked to my friend at work who recently had to have one of her fillopian tubes removed b/c of endometriosis and she said the exact same thing happened to her. I've noticed somtimes my paid can be so severe that I nearly pass out. I've known this isn't normal, but like I said my mom seemed to be denying that I had a problem so I never got the medical attention I should have. Any insights?
