Re: InsomniaFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu Apr 21 14:50:34 2005
Laura, I have insomnia all of the time. I get to the point where my whole body hurts and I lie in bed and just stare at the clock until it is time to go to work. I have read several articles that relate insomnia and endo. That doesn't mean that they are related but I'm a believer. The following works for me; no caffeine after 2 pm, around 8 soak in a hot bath tub with a glass of red wine for about an hour (drink the wine, don't soak in it), then find the most boring book on the market (I usually read constitutional law) and lay down with the lights dimmed. Also, try sleeping with a fan and turn your AC down low. I know it sounds corny but it works wonders, at least for me. There are also prescription sleep aids available like ambien. I've never tried it but my friend swears by it. If insomnia continues you should definitely talk to your doctor, even if you don't want prescription sleep aids. Hope this helps.
