I think you should call your doctor and ask him to go over your surgery report with you again, that you were trying to remember what all he said and be prepared to take notes. He may do it with your over the phone, he may have his nurse review it... in fact you can always ask for his nurse and ask her to repeat it... or he may have you come in and meet in his office (rather than exam room). It's not at all uncommon and you shouldn't feel embarassed or that you're taking more time than you are allowed.
