MICHELE,

I AGREE WITH RACHEL THAT YOU HAVE TO BE PROPERLY DIAGNOSED WITH ENDO AND THE ONLY WAY PRESENTLY IS VIA SURGERY.

I HAVE HAD 4 LAPS AND DONE 6 MONTHS OF LUPRON DEPOT. LUPRON IS A VERY CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC. FOR SOME WOMEN IT WORKS TO SUPRESS THEIR PAIN +/- A YEAR OR LONGER IF THEY ARE LUCKY. I WAS NOT A LUCKY ONE. I WAS MUCH SICKER WITH SIDE EFFECTS OF THE LUPRON THAN I WAS WITH THE ENDO. I RESISTED THE LUPRON, BUT WHEN MY OB GAVE ME THE COLORFULL BROCHURE ABOUT LUPRON AND ENDO FROM TAP PHARMACEUTICALS, IN ADDITION TO TELLING ME THAT IF I WERE HER SISTER, SHE WOULD RECOMMEND THE SAME TREATMENT. SO I AGREED TO TRY. THE ONLY GOOD THING FROM THIS IS THAT I AVOIDED A FULL HYSTERECTOMY.

FYI, IF YOU DON'T KNOW ALREADY, LUPRON OR A HYSTERECTOMY DO NOT CURE ENDO.

IF I WERE YOU I'D GET A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR. WOULD YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE HAVING SURGERY BY YOUR DOCTOR WHO WOULD PROPOSE LUPRON PRIOR TO A DIAGNOSIS? DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND ALWAYS WRITE DOWN ALL YOUR QUESTIONS FOR THE DOCTOR. ALSO, I KNOW IT'S HARD SOMETIMES BECAUSE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES TO DESCRIBE HOW YOU'RE FEELING AND PLEAD YOUR CASE, BUT STAND YOUR GROUND UNTIL ALL YOUR QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED.

I DID MY HOMEWORK, READ EVERYTHING I COULD FIND AND FINALLY DECIDED TO GO TO CALIFORNIA AND HAVE EXCISION SURGERY WITH DR. ANDREW COOK. HE AND THE VITAL CARE INSTITUTE ARE WONDERFUL. SEEING A SPECIALIST IS NOT A 100% CURE GUARANTEE, BUT THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU WANT AND SHOULD BE TREATED. CALL FOR A FREE INFO PKG. DR. COOK WILL REVIEW YOUR CASE AT NO CHARGE.

WHATEVER YO DO, KEEP EDUCATING YOURSELF. YOU'VE ALREADY STARTED BY FINDING THIS WEB SITE.

KEEP YOUR CHIN UP!! ANN K
