Re: Endo and infertility

I am so sorry you are having to go though this; however I am in the same position. My husband and I will be doing IVF in 4 months. There are many different thoughts on this issue. I will give you what my specialist has told me. Apparently the success of IVF does not improve with the removal of endo, but may improve your natual chances of conception. I am surprised that your doctor did not do the lap and let you try for a while before going the IVF route. My speciallist has tried everything possible before telling us that we should start to consider IVF. She also said that since I was in so much pain during my period, that the surgery, even if it did not help us conceive, should help with the pain and spotting. In my case this was right. If you are in this much pain along with infertility I would push for the lap. If your doctor is hesitant I would certainly be wondering why. Have you asked anyone for a second opinion? Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress.
