EndometreosisFrom: Dawn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Mar 31 21:37:16 2005
Hi. I am 28 years old. My husband and I have been trying to have a child to no avail for 3 years now. I have always had heavy, painful periods. For the last year, it has been impossible for me to have sexual intercourse. The pain is so severe. I recently had a laparoscopy. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I also have cysts on my tubes and ovaries. The endometriosis is on my bladder, bowels, and stomach. My doctor has been wonderful with information for me, but he has now left the decision in my hands. I can have a complete hystorectomy and they can remove the endometriosis from the rest of the body, or I can try injections. He basically doesn't feel that a hysterectomy is such a great choice for me, because of my age. He told me and my husband though that the chances of ever conceiving a child are not possible. I have come to face that and seem ok with it for now. But I do want to make the correct medical decision for me. I would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this and has tried the injections or has had a hysterectomy. Thanks.
