Help! I'm completey new to endo!From: Eileen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Mar 31 17:04:22 2005
Hi. I’m new to all this endo stuff so any help/advice from those going through it would be great. I haven’t been officially diagnosed with endo yet (have to do that lap thing), but my gyno thinks I do have it. I only started noticing problems a couple months ago. My periods began starting with very sudden stabbing back pains, awful cramping and heavy bleeding. The back pains and cramping woke me up from sleep the first time it happened. The heavy bleeding would subside after 4-5 days. Last month however, it got worse. I started feeling tired a few days before my period, then an awful, familiar back pack started up. My period started two days after that with even worse sudden stabbing back pain and side pain, cramping and heavy bleeding. I began aching from head to toe as well. I had a headache the entire duration of my period that no medicine would get rid of. I ran a fever of over a 100 along with these symptoms for the entire duration of my period. Of course, the syptoms all went away as soon as the period ended. I missed work because of it. The gyno was kind enough to see me right away. He did an ultradsound and didn’t find any cysts or anything, but prescribed me birth control to see if that would help with my symptoms. He said if it doesn’th elp, he’d do a lap on me to confirm endo. I’ve also have pain during intercourse depending on what angle things are happening. It’s frustrating for me and my fiance. In addition, my breasts are very sore and tender all month now. It used to be they got sore right before my period and then went away...now they get sore and stay sore all month. Does this sound familiar to other people with endo? Do others run a fever during their period too?
