Nikki, you dont have children yet, please think long and hard about the hysto hun. I know you are already but seek out another doctor and get another opinion please. I had endo very bad when i had my hysto and was also told that i would never have children. I had so many laps done I actually lost count around 14. I was lucky to have been in a city where there is a major medical school and medical schools tend to have the best doctors and best research. I went to a infertility doc and he assured me that i would be able to have a child as long as i did exactly what he told me to do. I did, i did everything he told me, i even went for another Lap and he told me to wait two weeks after and try for a baby then. He scheduled the lap where it would fall two weeks before i ovulated. I can even remember the day I did get pregant. :) nine months later well lets just say that precious baby is now a 13yr old teenager brat in a half! lol.....although that was the only child i had and only pregnancy i ever had, i was grateful for what i was blessed with and counted my blessing and was comfortable with the decision to have a hysto. I have never looked back. Let me tell you also that a hysto is not the cure all for endo either. I still have problems with it, yeah, i thought it would all be over with after my hysto, but i was wrong. I have endo in my colon now and in my intestines, i even think it has spread to my pancrease. Medically i am in worse shape now, not from the hysto either but from the endo. Your mom is looking out for you, she knows you may be heart broken for the rest of your life if you cant have a child. Sure you can adopt there are many children out there that need good parents. And God has made special people to be adoptive parents, i believe that is a special gift from God. I dont know if i could love a child like my own if they were not mine own. Believe me there are days when my child test's my love to no ends, lol....Please seek out a good endo and fertility doc before you have a hysto, put your mind at complete ease before you do this. And you being pre existing on your insurance may be a good thing, it gives you a time frame to have to wait and think about this. most insurance require you to be on the plan for a year before they will cover pre existing conditions. This gives you time to also look for some good docs to seek another opinion.......But if your health insurance is a HMO then there is no pre-existing with hmo's and you can get treatment for the endo when you need it. if you have a choice of what type of plan take the hmo, they are a pain in the butt, but they do give you care and treatment right away without a waiting period. Good luck Nikki....i think my email is on here so if you ever need a ear or a shoulder email me......Donna
