Unfortunately Shannon, you are not just married to your husband, you are married to the entire US Navy, in fact, you are married to the entire US Government - how's it feel to be in-laws with Dubya? (shudders)

Anyway, were you able to follow any of the pre-surgery advice I've given you over the past few weeks? Any friends to call? Do you live on or off base? Isn't there usually wives groups on base and even off base so they can call on each other for help with the kids, etc.?

Keep a pillow handy so if it looks like one of the animals is going to jump on you - you can hold the pillow out to protect yourself. The external incisions will heal pretty quickly, you are being careful so that you don't cause tears on the inside as well. You are sore because of everything being touched and moved around and in a few days you will be less sore. Pain meds are usually pretty necessary the first week. Stay off the stairs as much as you possibly can - try to make only one trip per day on them. You can move around just no bending, stretching or lifting. Walking around is good for you and gentle stretches when you stand up are ok too and will help prevent adhesions from forming.

Most doctors will not interrupt the treatment prescribed unless there is good reason to and apparently you haven't made it clear to this doctor that there is good reason to quit the Lupron. The side-effects you have listed previously are not outside of normal and expected with Lupron so based upon that alone he doesn't see the need to stop treatment. I think you should just sit tight and try to relax the next couple of weeks until your doctor gets all the lab reports back and then decide what you want to do next.
