I am no longer going to take it, but I think that you should get a 2nd opinion from a doctor about the Lupron injections. You are totally right in not wanting to take one medicine just to have another to counter act the side effects. I learned that the add back therapy has more effects than the injection. I too, have anxiety problems. I found that the Lupron makes my anxiety worse. I get really hot and cold flashes, joints are achy, spouts of severe depression and severe headaches. I just received my first lap. yesterday. The doctor found 3 endometrial tissues that he biopsied. He started me on the Lupron w/out even doing the lap... I, personally, would not suggest the Lupron if you already experience depression and anxiety. This is just how it effects me. I think you should do some hard research about the Lupron before deciding on getting it. Did you know that the Lupron doesn't get rid of the endo.? He merely shrinks it down and puts the endo. on hold. The only thing it is supposed to do is stop the endo. from spreading, but I don't believe they have scientifically proven that thus far. It has helped with the pain, but it is just a bandaid. Also, no one knows the life long side effects that this injection can cause. The FDA only approves the use of it for 6 months b/c it creates bone loss and who knows what else. I am not trying to scare you any more than you already are; just simply want to educate you and let you know my story. Please visit this web site at http://www.endocenter.org. Also you can call the Endometriosis Research Center for info. on the endo. and Lupron at 1-800-239-7280. I hope this helps. Take care and I am here if you need to talk. :O)
