Re: Endo and Pregnancy PainFrom: AmyRD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Mar 18 21:33:26 2005

I also get horrible pains in my side where I can't even move. It is not normal growing pains...its your endo. Its a myth that drs have that when you are pregnant endo pains go away. Whatever endo was in there is still there and the larger you get the more it hurts. Also, you are still producing hormones which can cause the endo to grow. Most drs think that endo does not grow during pregnancy but if you think about the fact that your hormone levels are still there that is not correct. One thing I can say...I have not needed to do this so I consider myself lucky(my pains only last about 5-10 minutes at a time), but if the pain is that bad I was told that vicodin and percocet are safe with pregnancy. If you can convince someone to prescribe it maybe you could take it sporadically to let you function. I would not want to take too much but it is an option.
I am so sorry you are going through this. I told my dr that if my pain
did get worse I was going to request an early c-section but luckily as I
mentioned above my pains are bad but don;t last very long. Good luck to
you.
