Hello,
The two specialists were Dr. Cook and the other was the Endo Center in
GA. I was impressed with both , but for whatever reason, I chose Dr.
Cook. They requested a very thorough questionare be completed prior to
the phone interview with Dr. Cook.
I mailed my case history to both locations on a monday morning. On
wednesday, two days later, I got a call from Michelle in Dr. Cooks
office. She explained how they worked and at that point set up the date
for the phone interview. Dr. Albee did get back tome via letter and
recommended the same surgical action, but I was just so impressed with
the way the other office worked that I chose them.
I too tried 6 months of Lupron. The total experience for me was not
good. The first 3 weeks after the Lupron Depot (3 month long injection)
I felt horrible and actually had to go back on vicaprofen. After that,
I did feel great until the 3 months were up. The second shot was a
totally different story. The side effects were 100 times worse than the
endo pain I had had.
Good news is that when I decided to go on the Lupron, I cancelled a
surgery date for a full hysterectomy with my GYN. In the end, I did
have a supra-cervical hysterectomy, but kept my right ovary and tube. No
HRT required.
Please feel free to email me any additional questons.
samdkosche@cox.net.
Also remember that there is never a "perfect" time to seek advice. With
technology the way it is, seek out any and all info you can to help
yourself. You're worth it. I made that bold move and told my husband
that I had to do something NOW!
Good luck,
Ann
