Ovary removalFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Mar 10 20:38:57 2005
Hello, my name is Amanda and I'm 23 yrs old. I was diagnosed with endo when I was 16 and had a laproscopy shortly afterwards. They then put me through 6 months of Lupron. The horrible pain kept coming back though. We tried different types of birth control as well as continuous birth control. My pain went through spurts, but always came back intensified. I had my second laproscopy when I was 21, through a different doctor that time. Less than 2 yrs later the pain had gotten so bad I couldn't function without pain pills. They put me through another round of Lupron, but we stopped after the 3rd month and I had my 3rd laproscopy. They also found that I had a septated uterus, so they removed that as well. It's been 4 months since that and I'm now back to taking percocet and hardly getting any relief from them. I am totally exhausted from the continual pain. My doctor is suggesting that I go ahead and have the right ovary removed, since that has always been where the pain is. I just wanted to know if anyone has had an ovary removed and what it is like? I'm very concerned at having this done at only 23, but I really can't take the pain anymore. I'd appreciate any info anyone would share with me. Thank you, Amanda
