Hi Allison,

I have been following the endo diet since last August, along with taking other supplements, and I have been completely pain free since then (also had a lap right before I started natural therapies so I was somewhat "cleaned out"). There is a book, Recipes for the Endometriosis Diet, that might help you. It can be found at http://www.endo-resolved.com. I have cut out the following: meat, wheat, dairy, caffeine, sugar, alcohol. I'm not sure about the citrus, I think someone posted months ago that they read that it wasn't good for women with endo, but I've never found anything to support that. I have citrus daily. In addition to the supplements you speak of, I would also add calcium because if you eliminate dairy (which, along with meat, is a pro-inflammatory) you may become deficient in it (calcium is found in a host of other foods too). If you do not take other hormones or drugs that induce menopause, then I would also recommend USP progesterone cream. There are two other excellent books that might interest you, Dr. John Lee's What your doctor may not tell you about pre-menopause and Dian Mills, Endometriosis: A Key to Healing Through Nutrition. These two books can canswer just about any question you might have about treating endometriosis. I also think that it is important to detoxify your liver when embarking on natural treatments. Most naturopathic doctors will start with this as it our liver is crucial in eliminating excess estrogens in our bodies. Oh, Vit E and C are also great!

I can tell you for me that dairy really causes me to bloat. Once I started the progesterone cream my moodiness, most of my cramps and fatigue disappeared (and most other PMS symptoms). I still had some cramping and once I started the fish oil that disappeared for me too. I have been one of those lucky individuals who responded very well and immediately to a natural treatment plan.

Good luck, Allison.
