Re: ZoladexFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netMon Feb 28 08:20:35 2005
Hi Leanne, I have Stage IV endo and IC. After a VERY unsuccessful trial with Femara, I was put on Zoledex, going on 8 months now (9th shot on March 10th). It has reduced my pain to "bearable" and the only annoying side effects I have experienced are Hot Flashes and Night Sweats. I have been loading up on the calcium to prevent bone loss, which on Zoledex is not as much of a problem when compared to Femara and Lupron. When I got my first shot it took about 2 1/5 weeks for any side effect to make itself evident (Hot Flashes) I'm not sure if your Dr warned you, but, the pain gets worse before it gets better. Give yourself at least 2 months to really see results, don't get discouraged! After the second month you may get some break-thru pain close to your next dose, if that starts, mention it to your Dr and keep track of when it occurs (give it at least 3 months) then talk to your Dr about scheduling the shot a bit earlier. My Dr. started upping the schedule to every 3 weeks to prevent it after my 3rd shot. Seems to have done the trick. If you want someone to talk to, feel free to e-mail me, Keep your head up! L
