Anyone used depo-provera long term?

I'm just realizing that I probably shouldn't have been on depo more than 2 or 3 years - as I'm now reading in current research studies. However, I have been on it for the past 6 years and I know it's time to stop. Has anyone else taken it long term? What side effects have you experienced? When you switched (if you have), what type of treatment did you switch to? How has it worked for you? I was thinking of switching to Seasonale - but have heard differing recommendations about it. What treatment options are working best for you?? Thanks for your help!
