Re: Prostap (or Lupron in the USA)From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Feb 8 13:32:59 2005
Doesn't anybody ask their doctors for full disclosure before accepting drug therapy? Do you seriously just blindly say "ok" to whatever is suggested? Good grief! Be the intelligent women you are and ask questions and request the written information be given to you BEFORE swallowing the pill or bending over for the injection. By refusing the second part of your treatment you will get to further enjoy the hot flashes and other uncomfortable yet NORMAL and EXPECTED side-effects of this drug therapy. It works for some women, it doesn't for others. No way to tell in advance if it will or not or how severe your side-effects will be to you but if you're going to begin a treatment it is usually best to see it through unless you are having life-threatening or really serious side-effects or other conditions arise that make continuing dangerous. Come on ladies, spend a few hours and search the information that is available to us and then come back here and discuss it. Too many women focus all of their attention here and keep recycling the same tired topics with no new input. Let's see if we can use this forum to actually educate and support each other and become informed patients instead of complacent patients.
