I have had a Laproscopy done for endometriosis, my belly button had a bad odor, but that was due to the blood that had pooled and dried there after the surgery. It took two weeks after the surgery to wash away all the blood. To get rid of the smell, dip a soft q-tip in warm water with a bit of soap and carefully clean out the belly button. This is what I do, but please, check with your doctor first. Just in case there is some other problem. I have an "inny" belly button, so once a week I have to clean it out with a q-tip because it is difficult to just wash it in the shower, and dirt can build up in there lol. I hope this helps
