Erika,

Endometritis is an inflammation and/or irritation of the endometrium (lining of the uterus).

In severe cases, hospitalization with IV antibiotics may be necessary. Rest and hydration are important. The simultaneous treatment of sexual partner(s), when appropriate, and the use of condoms throughout the course of treatment, are essential.

*** If you and your partner have had sex before your diagnosis then he should probably be checked to make sure he doesn't re-infect you.
