blocked fallop tubes- cause??

Hi everyone: My sister was determined to have a blocked fallopian tube. She is trying to get pregnant. Her OB/GYN told her it was caused by a sexually transmitted disease or infection. She was sexually active with a few men before she got married but not a lot and she was not promiscuous compared to what is out there today. Well, my mother has given her a real hard time about this due to what the ob/gyn said. My mother of course married the man she dated since she was 15 yrs old- you get the picture. But she has really been rough on my sister and said some nasty things to her - and she's felt enough pressure trying to get pregnant and can't. My question to you guys is can you get blocked tubes from something other than STD'S - for instance say from endometriosis? Or is it mostly caused by STD'S or pelvic infections. She had one lap done to remove the blocked tube and the doc said he did not see endo but there was scar tissue blocking the tube- But I know there have been many women who have endo and many ob/gyns missed it on their first few laps. I myself have advanced stage 4 endometriosis and if endo is genetic like some say - then she could have had it too. I just don't want her feeling bad if she doesn't have to -like she definitely got this from an STD. Thanks much
