I have been on Lupron twice on separate occasions. I was first Diagnosed when I was 23. Started Lupron before surgery in hopes on it controling my pain, It didn't, had a laporascapy done, then a year in a half later had to do the whole thing over again... Each time I was on Lupron for 6 months. I dont know if your doctors told you, but Lupron will put you into menopause while you are one it. I actually seen it as MENOPAUSE HELL!! When I was 23 I had some other issue going on whare I was so tired I literally couldnt move, I would be fine one moment and the next it was like someone pulle out the plug. Even to talk took a ton of energy, and the lupron made it so much worse. We didnt find out what was causeing my extrme fatigue stc til June 2003 when I had my 2nd surgery, I have Epstein-Barr virus. We did Lupron again as well. I was very skeptical because of how I felt tduring the first session of it. I had no energy, extreme mood swings, Deppression, Intense headaches and sensitivity to light, noise and smells, I cant wear contacts anymore, I was very emotional, no strength, The shots I got in my lower back/ it has to go into muscle during the shots I would get extremely bad back pains and muscle spasims, I still have back pains because of them, I never had problems with my back. Hot flashes that mainy times I have almost passed out from because they were soo intense. After The second session of the shots, it got really bad for me, I started to have anxiety attacks, I couldn't handle being around people I would freak out even if I know everyone in the room, I just couldn't do it. I even had a nervous breakdown in the begining of the year. I have even done continuous birth control with no break, and I feel like I am back to square one... I have also gone through 2 false pregnancies shortly after ending the Lupron. That on its own was very painful to me emotionally. The Epstein-Barr Virus doesnt help it any because whatever is wrong with you it feeds off of it and make you feel worse, cold, flu, deppression pulls your immune system right down...

Some people have done great on Lupron, some haven't. Look up as much as you can about Lupron, What it does to you the side affects, etc. I even found a website and I can't quite remember what it is at the moment but I believe I was using google looking up lupron and found sites discussing how dangerous it could be, and how it had done worse to other people. My experience was like a living hell on it. I am no where the same person I used to be because of all the emotional affects. Educate yourself as much as possible, remember it is your choice to stay on or get off. But this really throughs your body into Menopuase no easing into it. It literally hits you like a ton of bricks. My Dr. couldnt even give me anything like prempro to help ease the menopuase symptoms because that little bit of estrogen in it and I was in more pain and bleeding like crazy.

Please let me know what you decide, and not like you aren't already extra aware on whats going on with your body, physically and emotionally and so on, but be more so if you are on Lupron.
