adenomyosis confirmed after hysterectomy

Hi all, As of today, I am two weeks post hysterectomy. I went for a check up Monday and the doctor had the path results from my uterus. I did have adenomyosis...which is what I thought since all other tests were coming back normal. For those who maybe didn't see my earlier post, I've been having lots of breakthrough bleeding, vaginal bleeding when having bm, and worst of all, extremely painful intercourse for six months plus. The last few pelvic exams that I had were almost unbearable, so if any of this sounds familiar.... Also, when I had an ultrasound I had to have a full bladder...that was soooo painful. Anyway, I'm 43 with four children, so I just had a total hysterectomy. No real problems from the surgery itself..never could really tell I had surgery...but I did get pneumonia because the hospital staff didn't do their job. I now know that they should have had me doing deep breathing, coughing and up and walking the day after surgery. None of this happened, I lay in bed until released. Surgery was the 12th, came home 13th, back in hospital the 14th for four more days. I've never been so sick, but that is all over now and am very grateful the good Lord allowed me to get better. I do have to admit, I'm looking forward to painfree sex...sorry, but it's been so long. Good luck to all.
