Since they were born, I was struggling with 15 -18 day periods with painful intercourse and break-through bleeding at any time. I had painful bowel movements, nausea, cramping pretty much every day for THREE YEARS! Enough was enough and I told my doctor to just take out my uterus. He had asked me months before if I wanted that and I said,"No." I just couldn't take it any more. A week ago Tuesday, I had my uterus removed and I am SO glad that I did it. I had c-sections with all my children so I had to have it done abdominally and the pain was VERY bad, I won't lie. But it's only one week since and I feel really good. I went yesterday to have my staples removed and my doctor told me that I definitely had adenomyosis. The only way to completely be rid of it was to take out my uterus. We were both so happy that we had made the right decision. No one that doesn't have this disease could possibly understand how painful it is. Your quality of life sucks and you keep telling yourself that it will get better. It doesn't. I hope you are well today and if you ever need to talk, I'll be here.
