Re: I suspect endoFrom: Kari (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Jan 23 22:11:02 2005
Dianne- I know exactly what you are talking about. I am 25 and have been dealing with this same thing (seriously anyways) for almost a year now. When the pain first became more noticable that it was interfering with my daily life I was at the Dr once a week for a period of 7/8 weeks. Same symptoms EVERYTIME!! One of these days I am going to get my med records from those docs and show the WORLD I wasn't crazy then... Anyways, after ALL that time and money I have FINALLY found a doc who mentioned Endo. Once I had a name to put with what I was feeling I looked up all the info I possibly could and my next appointment after that I went in armed and ready for battle. Someone was going to take me seriously about this problem. Well it is 12:02 am on Monday and I am scheduled for a Lap today at 10:10am! WHOO HOO!! But I will be honest with you and tell you it was phyiscal and emotional HELL to get to this point... You need to be aware (and you seem to be) and go to that doc with a plan. Tell them what you want done. I had to fight to get this surgery. All I kept hearing was meds, meds, meds... and they weren't even sure if it was Endo. I have had CT scans, ultrasounds (both internal and external), bloodwork, and an MRI. None of that was conclusive as far as they were concerned even though I had a cyst the size of a golf ball "tucked" behind my left ovary during the ultrasound that moved to right above my cervix for the CT scan. Enough was enough. Sorry to ramble on, just know that you are not alone and I hope this Doc will listen to you and take you seriously. If not, find another one. Read through the posts on here and you will see you are not alone in this on going struggle. One of the best pieces of advice I have received from a member on this board is that a doctor is someone you have hired to preform a "service" for you and if you are not happy with the quality of that serivce, you are WELL within your right to fire them! Good luck, Kari Again... sorry for rambling, but I am trying to think of ways to not want to drink anything or grab a snack since I was told that I couldn't after midnight.. And I am a little "wired" about this surgery tomorrow :) See ya when the anethesia wears off... HAHAHA!!
