Hi Sarah, I have been receiving Lupron treatments since February, 2000. Next month will mark my 5th year anniversary. For me it has also been a wonderdrug - I have pain free for the last 4.5 years. I have a number of specialists and doctors who are monitoring my case and are aware of my long term Lurpon use. I eat lots of calcium source foods as well as taking supplements to help ensure my bone density stays within the normal range. I have no plans to stop my Lupron treatments in the forseeable future - all of my doctors are aware of this. So, I can't offer any insight as to how long it will take your body to get back to "normal" or if it will. However, I was relieved to discover someone other than myself who has also used Lupron for such an extended period of time. Whatever the adverse effects may be down the road I will live with at that time. But I was unwilling and am still unwilling to live with the degree of pain I was experiencing daily. I was unable to function at a level which allowed me to live my life. Today, my life is "normal" and without pain. I wish you health and happiness in the future.
