Re: EMOTIONAL FEELINGSFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jan 17 18:02:37 2005
The best ways to help yourself cope emotionally are to make sure you are taking care of yourself. Women tend to take less care of themselves when they are feeling emotionally overwhelmed so try to be aware of that. Eat well, some women have very sensitive bowels and tummies because of the endo and the medication for endo. Eating smaller meals should help the discomfort. Avoiding certain foods that cause gas (dairy, wheat, etc.) can also help a lot. The less pain and discomfort the better you will be able to handle your emotions. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, being well-rested also will help you cope better. Being over tired and stressed can sometimes exaggerate the severity of your pain symptoms, can cause more cramping and heavier bleeding too. You say you are suspected of having endo. This means you have not yet been diagnosed so are your emotions from wondering what this all means and what's going to happen next? If this is the case then see the above and try, try, try not to let it occupy too much of your mind. Keep yourself busy, keep as physically active as you can handle and pamper yourself when you need to. You didn't say what sort of emotions you are experiencing. Are you taking birth control pills or something else that has exaggerated your normal emotional state? This often happens and can be extremely difficult to get a grip on. BC pills made me feel like I was literally losing my mind and I finally had to go off them. If this is the case please speak to your doctor first to see if you can try a different formulation. Good luck and hope it all turns out ok for you.
