I am sorry to inform everyone that there are only 4 stages of endo. There never have been five, and probably never will be. The stages only benefit the doctor anyway, it has nothing to do with infertility or pain. The stages let the doctor know where the endo is located, how deep it is, and how involved the adhesions are. By claiming to have stage 5 endo, you are spreading misinformation. If your doctor tells you that you have stage 5 endo, go to another doctor because s/he obviously doesn't know what they are talking about. If you are getting your information from the internet, make sure you are looking at reputable sites. There are a MILLION sites made by women with endo who mean well, but are very misinformed. Try the endometriosis association or the endometriosis research center. Having endo is bad enough in and of itself, there is no need to compete for whose is worse. Stage 1 can cause infertility and extreme pain, just as stage 4 can show no symptoms at all.
