Caryn-- I was on Depo for a little over a year and loved it. Loved it, loved it ,loved it!! The only thing that made me go off it was that I had gained alot of weight during the course of that year. I had also quit smoking about 4 1/2 months before I started the Depo, so neither my doc or I could decide which was causing more of the weight gain. In total it turned out to be more than 30lbs. My doc thought that was too much weight in such a short amount of time so she suggested that I go off it. Almost 2 years later I am now on Ortho LO and so far I haven't had any side effects that I can tell. Hope this info helps.
