Hi everyone. My name is Angela and I am 22 years old. I have 3 children and my symptoms started after my 3rd child who was born a year ago. I started my period at 11 years old and the first was unbelevably painful. But other than that first one i have never had a problem. My periods have always been regular, not heavy, and very minimal cramping. about 6 months ago i began having cramps that would last all day and then be gone the next. then id have none for a month or so. i figured it was weird but i put it off as lingering pain from the appendectomy while i was pregnant and the tubal ligation after the baby was born. or cysts. Well since then the pain has gotten worse and comes alot more and i have noticed that it usually follows a pattern with my periods. I will get them right at mid cycle and last about 2 days. And about 2 days during my periods. Also my last 2 periods have been irregular. the first lasted almost 2 weeks when they are usually 5 days. And the last was excruciating. and extremely heavy. Sex has become painful during and usually brings the cramps and back and leg pains on by the next day and they last all day untill i finally sleep. Well i finally saw my gyno yesterday and he thinks i may have endo. He has put me on ortho tri cyclen birth control pills for 3 months and see how that works out. he says the next step is a d&c and destruction of my complete endometrium. He says ill never have another period after this. Anyone had relief from the pill and has anyone gone through this d&c procedure? Also he told me to take motrin. I have been taking tylenol for the pain to no avail. They just dont work. What should i do. Does this all sound familiar. Also if anyone knows a good doctor specializing in endo in the columbia south carolina area i would appreciate the info.Well sorry such a long post but i really need some advice. Thanks,
