Hello,

Thank you so much in advance for any advice that you can provide. I am sorry this is so long - I just wanted to clearly explain the situation before asking for your advice.

The last 1.5 years have been pretty rough. Like many of you, I was misdiagnosed by my first doctor who didn't see the endo when he did a lap, which kicked off a whirlwind tour of frustration.

In Oct. 04, I did find a more knowledgeable doctor, who has performed 2 laps and prescribed continuous birth control pills to manage the pain associated with endo/adhesions. My last two laps were in Sept. 04, and Nov. 03; this year's lap has given me only 2.5 months of improvement; the last afforded me about 4 months of pain relief.

Well, the pain is back again. And his only other suggestion has been Lupron, which I refused because of the extremely negative side effects.

What are my other options -- if any?

I have heard of a Doctor Koh in Wisconsin who does excision surgery instead of just lasering the spots off. But when I asked my doctor if he would excise the spots during my last lap, he said that "he would do better than that, he would blast them away with a laser."

I am not real impressed with the "blasting" that he did, as my pain relief keeps getting shorter and shorter. And I am not sure what my other options might be. It is also frustrating because my current doctor is listed as a preffered doctor in MN according to the Endo Organization's list of specialists, so I am second guessing myself, wondering if I am supposedly working with one of the better doctors, how will I ever find a doctor who can help me.

Also, I am pretty sad as I have lost interest in sex, and exercising and have gained a lot of weight due to not feeling so hot. I am not feeling very optimistic that I will ever feel like myself again. Aaaaaaack!
