I have had a bunch of scary symptoms for about six months and my doctor really doesn't know what it is--endo is probably her main theory but the symptoms seem somewhat atypical. She wants to hold off on laparoscopy till I've tried various birth control pills--I've been switched already from OrthoTriCyclen to Cyclessa to OrthoCyclen, and it's just gotten worse so now whe wants to try Lo Ovral. I've had various tests for other conditions (endometrial biopsy, CA 125, pelvic sonograms, STDs) that have come back normal. I thought I would post here to find out if anyone else has had endo present in a similar way, or if any doctors checking the site had any thoughts. Here are the symptoms, in descending order of how much they worry me. They all started around the same time, before which I was completely healthy. I'm in my late twenties. --Bleeding between periods, starting one week after my period ends and lasting almost until the next one begins; fairly light but more than spotting --Pain during sex, seems to be associated with entry, i.e. it's pretty close to the surface and not that deep --Pelvic pain--this is NOT worse during my period; cramps are no worse than they have ever been, but now I also have similar cramps when it's not my period --Abdominal pain (dull and not very localized) and bloating--thought this was gastrointestinal at first and have been seeing a GI doctor as well, but he can't diagnose it; he prescribed Protonix, which treats the symptoms of acid-related conditions like ulcers, which seems to help somewhat --Frequent UTI-like symptoms, mostly burning during urination, triggered by sex and lasting up to a week; had one or two actual UTIs over the summer but more recent tests have been negative --One yeast infection (maybe triggered by pill change) --A couple of migraine headaches (have had these once before, but not often) --Occasional shortness of breath associated with moments of severe abdominal pain Any thoughts? Also, I eat a lot of soy--does this matter? Thank you!!
