Re: I just need some answers and supportFrom: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Dec 29 05:47:27 2004
Hi, This is my first post here--I came here looking for answers as well. I have had endo the majority of my life. I can remember at 10-11 yrs. of age waking up in the middle of the night in terrible pain, being rushed to the ER and they were never able to find the problem. I spent many years going to different doctors and being told there was nothing wrong with me, it was all in my head! I was 29 before I was officially diagnosed with endo. I had already had 3 children at that time and had lost 4 babies. After being diagnosed with endo, having a laproscopic surgery, it was 6 months time and I had to have another surgery to remove my right tube and ovary. They were ate up with scar tissue so badly that the ovary was nothing but scar tissue and it was attached to my abdominal wall with scar tissue. To say the least, I was in horrible pain! Since then, I have had 2 more children--for a total of 5!! My childrens ages: 17 boy, 14 girl, 10 boy, 2 yr. boy, 8 month old girl!! So, you see, it is very possible to have children with endometriosis. I have had 12 pregnancies and only 5 of them were complete. It was a hard road and I did loose many babies, but I am very thankful for my 5 wonderful children. The key to keeping my pregnancies ended up that I had to take progesterone suppositories (vaginal) for the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy, this helped me with keeping the pregnancy for full term. Do not give up on the thought of having children, it is very possible to have children--and lots of them. I am now on a search for the right doctor to treat my endometriosis. I just went to a new doctor yesterday and will not be going to see him again as his suggestion was to rip everything out and the endo would go away. We all know that is NOT how it works. He also refused to give me anything for pain and said to take motrin. You know, I wish that a man could experience for a day some of the pain that we feel with this disease! They wouldn't be so quick to tell us to toughen up and just take motrin! I wish you all the best and make sure that you research endometriosis very well. Do not let a doctor tell you that it will go away if they take out your uterus and tubes, because that is not correct! Kind of stupid if you ask me, how can they really expect it to go away if it is in other parts of your body? I'm still searching for answers, and I've been searching for a long time. I wish everyone the best with their search as well! **Hugs to all** Janet At Wed, 22 Dec 2004, Tara wrote: > >I went in for laproscopy two weeks ago and went for my follow up today. >My doctor told me the biopsies came back positive for endometryosis.
