endomitriosis & enlarged multicystic ovaries..fertility?From: Sasha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Dec 27 15:08:26 2004
i'm new here, but really hope someone can help. i had a laparoscopy in september, where i was told i have very mild endo. I am still waiting for a follow-up appoitment as i really don't know what's going on. I was told to take the BCP back to back (this will be my 5th and last pack, i have bled all the way through, and it's made the pain worse...i feel worse now then i did before i knew...i was given mefanamic acid by my dr, which has helped withthe pain, and reduce the period to spotting)...as i was growing impatient at waiting to speak to the gynae who operated, i requested my medical notes, and received them a few weeks ago. In them in say i have spots of endo on both of my ligaments holding my uterus (more on the left side) as well as on my ovrian foasa ( i think) both my ovaries are enlarged and multicytic...since being diagnosed, i'm feeling a real urgency that time may be running out for me to have the large family i've always wanted. I'm only 23 but am sick of people telling me i'm young and over stressing. i'm engaged and have been with my fiance for 5 years, and even he jokes about it...as it may be another 3 months before i even get a follow up appointment and i'm discontinuing the pill with hopes that the pain will at least go back to being intermitent instead of constant ( i can at least pretend that i can cope with all my other symptoms)... i know people conceive even with endo, but won't the way my ovaries are, mean that it will be harder? i'm so sorry to moan, but the more time i'm left to wonder, the worse i feel, my Dr is no help whatsoever, as she keeps telling me to perserve and wait 'till i speak to the gynae... thanks for listening, sorry it's so long winded Sashaxx
