Hereditary Endo??

I just found out on Christmas Day from my paternal grandmother that she was diagonosed with Endo when she was roughly about my age and she had to have a D&C. First of all, I am not sure what a D&C is? And also she said that it cleared it up for her for a while, but eventually it came back so bad she ended up having an emergency hysterectomy. I know this was 40+ years ago, and many medical advances have been made, but still I wonder if this could be the path I am heading down. I was wondering if Endo can be hereditary and if it puts me at greater risk for more complications? Also, knowing that my doctors want to wait this out, I was wondering if I should call them and let them know this newest info. I don't want to seem like I am bothering them calling about every ache and pain, but it seems like this is important info to have. Thank you --Kari (starr214@adelphia.net)
