Ovarian CystFrom: Sara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Nov 28 21:17:57 2004
I was diagnosed with a small simple right ovarian cyst in June. I never had any problems with it, but over the last few days I am experiencing pain and fullness in the right lower quadrant and pelvis, along with upper right leg pain. I have been on birth control pills for 3 years which has made me wonder how I even got the cyst in the first place because they are caused by ovulation and I shouldn't have ovulated. My doctor never seemed too concerned though. My question is, although there has never been any pain until now, could the cyst have ruptured after almost six months? I hate going to the doctor all the time, so I don't want to bother them unless there is a problem that would absolutely need to be addressed at this time, but I don't know if this is one of those times.
