Re: ovarain remnantFrom: D.N. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Nov 25 09:00:13 2004
Hi, I have ORS too. I have not had it surgically treated. i used continuous birth control pills and prometrium for a while, but had to go off because of migraines. Thankfully now I am very perimenopausal and I am having less problems. Have you tried medically managing it with continuous birth control pills or prometrium or lupron? When you have had surgery before, is it just your gyn doing it? If so, you might want to search out a gyn oncologist surgeon. They are better able to find a needle in a haystack, so to speak and they can also deal with complications of the bowel and ureter better. Have you tried Clomid before surgery to stimulate the remnant before surgery? ORS is difficult to get rid of because all you need is a small amount of ovarian tissue and it fights to keep going. If you haven't tried to suppress it, personally, I would go that route before trying surgery again. I hope this info helps. Best wishes, D.N.
