Re: has anyone been told they had PID....when in fact they had ENDO

in 94, i was told i had PID (i've only had 1 partner, my husband). was not very thrilled with the dx and didn't believe it since the doc only did a urine test and a pelvic exam. when i had my first lap in 02, my new gyn (he works with the other doc btw) told me my tubes were perfect. he doubts i ever had PID and said that older docs will tell younger women they have it. they just assume and don't really do the tests they're supposed to do. i'm angry because it really damaged my trust in my husband for a while. even now when i see my gyn, if that other doc is in the hall, i want to kick him where it hurts and tell him, "it was endo you moron! if you'd diagnosed it right the first time, i wouldn't have gone through so many years trying to get pg unsuccessfully. i wouldn't have had so much pain for so many years."

according to my doc, you have to do bloodwork to dx PID. i don't know what kind of things they look for in it though.

sorry to rant. i just got really mad thinking about it. ;)
