Jenny, Since your friend hasn't been properly diagnosed with endo I beileve her best bet would go ahead and get the surgery. That way she can know for sure and might cut her baby making time down. If her obgyn or a fertility specialist doesn't know 100% that she has endo then they probably won't help her w\ fertility treatments. That might mean a full year of trying to get pg when she could of been pg a few months after her lap (surgery). Many ob's will say the best time to get pg is within the first few months after surgery because most of the endo can be lasered off and they usually check her tubes to make sure they are clear. So actually she'll be having 2 possible threats looked at. Endo does have a higher miscarriage rate. (I'm not sure on the exact stats but you can go to http://www.endoassociation.com and find most of this out) And I noticed that you stated the best "cure" for endo is pg. There is NO cure at this time for endo. Her symptoms could be,but not promised to, diminish. I had my surgery in Aug and I'm now pg for the first time after trying for nearly 2.5 years. It just took the surgery and a little help from my ob. Tell your friend though that when she does indeed have the surgery to check all resources to find a good doctor. Also make sure that she request to see a taping or pictures from her surgery. This way she can see the before's and after's and tell the difference. The best of luck to your friend. Amanda
