An otherwise healthy woman who eats a balanced diet, gets plenty of rest, etc. can usually withstand lengthy heavy periods without fear of anemia.

You say you've been sick, you've been having a long period, not heavy but long anyway and you have a fever. None of this necessarily means you ARE anemic but you certainly could become so because your body is already having to work overtime.

Eat lots of soup and simple foods. Lots of dark leafy greens (like spinach) and get a good amount of protein as well. Treat yourself to some extra carbs to help give your body some extra energy to burn so it can kick this cold (or flu?) in the butt.

You took cold medicine to lower your fever - that is good. Keep taking it and rest. If after 3 or 4 days you are still having fever you absolutely need to see a doctor and get on antibiotics.

Now... off the computer and to bed with you.
