Hi Mindy, I have adenomyosis!!!! I am scheduled for a partial hysterectomy on Dec 8th. I experience extremely heavy periods that are heavy for 4 to 5 days. I think I might be anemic due to this. My symptoms are severe pelvic pain and I have trouble having bowel movements. During my period and ovulation I can feel the exact location of my uterus. It feels like a foreign object in my pelvic region. The doc did a lap and a D&C and said my uterus is a mess inside. He said by having the hyst he feels that it will help alot if not all of my pain. He lasered out some endo on my right ovary and said I had a little in some other places too. When I am able to have a bm it feels like I'm in labor. My uterus contracts and everything. I have 2 children and sometimes I think a bm is worse than actual labor. I take levsin to help me go! It takes away the sharp cramping pains during a bm. I will post after my hyst to keep everyone updated as to wether I think it helped me. I will not take lupron and I cannot take birth control. Ask your doc if he thinks you need a D&C. The lupron might help and so might ablation but they have the risk of making you sterile. You need to weigh your risks against what you believe is right for you. I hope this helps you. In my opinion I think the D&C would probably help a little. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. Tracy
