Hi Mindy,

I have Adenomyosis and decided to try Lupron therapy instead of Hysterectomy.

I started having very heavy bleeding during men station years ago and an uncomfortable feeling in my lower abdomen that would keep me from sleeping. Then the periods were very irregular and heavy, and sometimes lasted for weeks. This went on for several years.

I finally changed Doctors and the new Doctor put me on the Nuva Ring (Low Dose Birth Control) to try to regulate the periods. She thought that I had Endometriosis. I then started bleeding on July 8th and didn't stop. She decided to do an MRI. The MRI showed that the uterus was, as the doctor put it, HUGE and they suspected it was Adenomyosis.

I was then sent to another Doctor who specializes in treating women who are still interested in bearing children. He explained that the only cure for this is Hysterectomy, however, Lupron therapy could shrink the uterus enough that I could conceive.

I am 5.5 weeks into Lupron therapy and am still bleeding. I am anemic and still have discomfort that keeps me from sleeping.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Hope this helps, Mandy
