Re: ABNORMAL PAPFrom: aireeca (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 3 20:16:16 2004
Sarah, I had a series of abnormal paps back in the fall of 2000, which was also when I was first diagnosed with endo. A colposcopy is a minor procedure where they snip a bit of tissue from the cervex. Mine was done by a gynecological cancer specialist and it came out fine. Sometimes, my doc at the time said, the cells just get out of whack for a short time or a slight difference in results is actually your normal. Some things to know about the procedure: It's quick and it will make you sore and possibly cramp. I had a friend bring me to mine and I was so thankful because I would not have been able to drive my stick shift car home after the procedure. Have it done at the end of a day, if you can, so that you can go home and just chill out. Erica.
