Back pain....From: Olivia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Nov 2 16:02:59 2004
Hi all, I have been surfing the messages and noticed a lot of you have been having back pain/tailbone pain. Well..I was actually going to post a message about the same thing. My lower back/tailbone area has been hurting soooo bad these last few days..it used to be off and on...but lately it has been continuous. My pain is like a burning and pulling feeling, which I can feel on the right side of my abdomen too. It's like the pulling goes all the way thru my body to the back. The pain is so nagging that it makes me feel tired and nauseated. I had a similar pain before my second lap in 2000....it got so bad that I couldn't even get up from a lying position. I went thru CT scans, neuro exams, and physical therapy..nothing helped. Around the same time..I started having a lot of menstrual problems.. so I had a lap. During the lap, the surgeon found a ton of endo in the posterior cul-de-sac...once that was removed...the back pain was gone. In 2002, I started having the same problems again. During my next lap..again..cul-de-sac endo was found along with my right ovary attached to the cul-de-sac with adhesions... Anyways..I am almost positive that this recent back pain flair up is due to more endo in the cul-de-sac and/or adhesions in the area that are pulling on things..giving me that "burning and pulling" feeling. My gyn. said that back pain is very common with cul-de-sac implants. It makes sense....because the cul de sac is near the back of the pelvis.. between the uterus and rectum. I will have to get my pain checked out soon...I've kind of been boycotting going to the doctor lately...just because most of the time..I come home without an answer..but..I don't want things to get too much worse. Good luck to those with back problems...it's nooo fun... I literally "feel your pain". Luv, olivia
